All About Mikaela

Mikaela Kesinger is a fiber artist and a published nonfiction writer who graduated from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington with a double major in creative writing and sociology. Her writing is centered around raising awareness for a wide range of social, political, and environmental injustices. Her fiber artistry designs do the same. With a focus on upcycling old fabrics, and a passion for combining creativity with conservation, Mikaela created her brand All Art is Poetry. She wishes to demonstrate that fashion doesn’t have to be fast to be fashionable. Combining several different techniques from the textile arts, Mikaela’s designs show us that beauty is far from perfection. There is something still to love in those pieces that someone else has thrown away.
