Ride Me

Forlorn and forgotten, I stand, sloping slightly
to the left, as though my heart weighed me down.
Without you, my heart won’t leap—I can’t stand.
I crave the rattle that one shook my bones.
The flush that surged between us as we pierced
the salty air—a moist summer breeze.
I thirst for the sensation of shifting through the sudden,
warm regions—bracing for the inevitable chill of the sea’s breath.
The way you gripped me so firmly, a clutch
only one inches from demise understands.
No longer do we spend hours, bodies entangled,
grinding along edges of unknown terrain.
How I wish you’d breathe life back into me—
Ignite my engine so we may, again, feel that fervor.
Won't you succumb to that scorching fire inside?
Oh, won't you please, ride me?
